Measurement surveys
Buyers and sellers of real estate of course want to know a building’s exact floor area. There should be no confusion about that, because not all floor area can be used. Only the net floor area is of any use to a buyer or seller; the gross floor area is indicative for the building’s maintenance.
Only measurements which have been carried out according to the national standard NEN 2580, provide the correct, objective dimensions of the usable floor area. Of course, Search uses this NEN-norm as a fixed standard for all measurements in connection with pre-purchase and pre-sale inspections. Using certified measurement surveys, our qualified inspectors will map meticulously how large the useable floor area is.
As a national engineering and research bureau, Search is an objective, reliable party to draw up measurement surveys as a point of reference in buying or selling real estate. Often our consultants combine drawing up the measurement surveys with other investigations, such as asbestos inventories, fire safety and legionella inspections. After all, they are already walking around the building with the construction drawings in their hands. It’s a good opportunity, while they are there, to have the building checked on those points too. The results are presented as a combined investigation in a clear, clarifying report with recommendations for solutions.
