Soil investigation

Soil quality often is an important subject in real estate transactions. Soil pollution, however, cannot be observed with the naked eye. Therefore, applicants for, for instance, building or environmental permits are obliged to have the soil investigated. This type of soil investigation also is the solution to bring out the risks in the case of sales or purchases.

One single point of consultation

Search carries out all types of soil research by our own staff. Our highly qualified and experienced field crews can be found everywhere. Search looks upon soil investigation as an independent service, but also as part of our complete service package, covering research, project supervision and management in soil decontamination. Search is specialised in all aspects of building, environment, safety and quality, and integrates her services into combined investigations, thereby saving al lot of the client’s time and money.

Clear reports

By systematically taking soil samples, an exploratory soil investigation maps whether and in which places the soil is polluted. Laboratory analysis then indicates the nature and concentration of the pollution found. Search puts these findings down in an objective, clear investigation report. This report also includes recommendations for practicable, efficient solutions.

Complete service portfolio

An exploratory soil investigation is the first step. Depending on the nature and the scale of the pollution, the next steps may consist of an exploratory investigation, a closer investigation or a decontamination investigation. If decontamination is necessary, Search will draw up a decontamination plan based on the investigation results, after which we will supervise the entire implementation stage on behalf of the client. Of course you can also call in our consultants for counterchecks and accurate cost estimates, which will constitute valuable points of reference for contracting out a soil decontamination job or the valuation of a property.

Intermediary

The slightest rumour about soil pollution may throw the local population into commotion. Particularly if it involves substances which may be harmful to one’s health, such as asbestos, emotional responses may occur. Our consultants are accustomed to dispel anxiety and can take over communication about possible risks to the environment or public health. Clients can count on expert advice, based on laboratory research, and a solution-oriented approach of follow-up procedures and communication. As a strictly independent intermediary Search will come up with effective solutions, with an open eye for the interests of all parties concerned.
