Ground water investigations

Soil pollution will, irrevocably, penetrate sooner or later into ground and surface water. This may constitute a risk to public health and the environment. There are statutory frameworks for groundwater quality, which oblige applicants for a building permit or environmental license to locate and contain polluted ground and surface waters. In extreme situations, an obligation to decontaminate the water may even be imposed.

Mapping groundwater pollution

Groundwater investigation establishes whether the groundwater is polluted. If it is, an investigation ensues to find out the extent of the pollution and which measures can be taken to keep it from spreading further. Search’s accredited laboratory examines groundwater samples to find the nature and concentration of the pollution. The investigation results are presented in a clear end report, which includes advice for decontamination solutions.

By our own staff

Search uses its own staff to carry out all types of soil, groundwater and asbestos-in-underwater bottom investigations. Groundwater investigation is an independent service, but it’s also part of our complete service package, which includes soil investigation and operative management and project management at decontamination projects. It will save you time and money if Search can combine different investigations for you.

Complete service portfolio

First our consultants carry out an explorative groundwater investigation. If required, it is followed by a closer investigation and our involvement may further include drawing up decontamination plans and investigations, operative management and project management of the groundwater decontamination. Our consultants can also make counterchecks and make accurate cost estimates, to be used as a reference in contracting out the groundwater decontamination.

Intermediary

You can entrust us safely with part of the process, or even the entire procedure from groundwater investigation to decontamination support. Our consultants can assist you with communicating about the risks to the environment or public health or act as your spokesmen. As an independent intermediary, Search provides effective solutions, with an open eye for the interests of all parties concerned.
